Continuous research on outdoor experience is our leitmotif.

Last year we presented our vision of outdoor living design all over the world: from Designjunction and Yachtdesign in London to Downtown Design in Dubai, from Host in Milan to Boutique Design in NYC, from Igeho in Basel to IIdex in Toronto.

Our collections of sculptures – large flower pots, decoration items, interesting lighting, either from our rich catalogue or created in cooperation with large architecture studios (backed by decades of know-how, we can offer extremely high levels of personalisation for every single project) – express our functional concept all by themselves, always marked by a strong identity of Italian design and style acknowledged worldwide, in several examples of residential, retail and hospitality buildings and in public spaces in general.

The Serralunga brand coincides with the declination of a highly performing material, polyethylene, worked with a rotational moulding technique pioneered by the company and whose potentialities we have contributed to explore in terms of shapes and colours, thanks to technological innovation and to the cooperation with international designers.

A pole-position in the industrial context that today, in particular, the company fiercely defends, maintaining the entire production process within its historical headquarters and production plant in Biella, in the exact same location as our first day of production, almost 200 years ago, always in Via Serralunga.
At the Salone del Mobile di Milano 2016, under the art direction of Raffaella Mangiarotti, we will be confirming our cooperation with Christophe Pillet, a designer who has created famous long-sellers for us in the past, introducing his Pine Beach collection: sofa and small armchairs inspired in the softness and sinuosity of coastlines.

We are also trying new joint projects with Italian and international designers: Shin Azumi has designed “Bulbil”, a stool that looks like a bulb, made of a mixture of polyethylene and wood, while the designer Garth Roberts conceived the Juju, an easy-to-handle side table that is small in size and whose playful name matches the mood of its proportions.

Harmonious and essential Bay, the lounge chair by Raffaella Mangiarotti, characterised by a marking on its contours that reminds us of a seamless? model; the Solea chair by Giovanni Giacobone and Massimo Roj, with modern and soft lines inspired by the Viennese Style of late nineteenth century; and the singular Kentia modular panels designed by Stefania Naretto and Chiara Otella, inspired on the leaves of the tropical plant Howea forsteriana, conceived as natural inspired partitions of private and public spaces.

New exclusive finishing options: metallic effect outdoors as well, and new super glossy lacquer

The new collection items now also include an extraordinary innovation in the finishing sector: we now offer an exclusive special metallic finishing that is the result of an innovative metabolisation process through which metal can be applied to a plastic surface without the application of heat.
The final result is a product that boasts all the characteristics of a piece of metal, including structure, shine and heat conductibility, and yet is incredibly light thanks to its polyethylene structure.
The treated product feels and acts as if it were completely coated with molten metal – the finishing is metal for all intents and purposes. This is not a metallic paint, but a metal composite.

The final surface is incredibly durable even for outdoor use, resistant to sun rays, completely stable when exposed to water or the elements, and all the while extremely easy to handle and to transport thanks to its light weight.

The new finishing is available in Opaque Titanium, Opaque Copper, Opaque Bronze, Brown and Dark Grey.

In addition to the metabolisation metal finishing, we’re also glad to introduce our metallic finishing options (gold, bronze, copper). This technique is the result of a joint study between the Serralunga art direction and the laboratory technicians of historic paint manufacturer Lechler, always in the avant-garde of colour studies and boasting remarkable know-how in the field of colour application technologies in several industrial sectors, in particular the automotive industry.
Another innovation that we will reveal at Salone del Mobile: “Clean Fighter”, CLEAN? YES, YOU CAN!!; innovative compound that allows a quick and super simple cleaning of Serralunga furniture, pots and accessories: less time spent on household chores and minimum effort. Clean Fighter, absolutely transversal per application, was added, as well as in many of the new collections, in some items already in the catalogue. From its part the ability to adapt to different forms of complexity and the availability in various colours of our catalogue.

News for the colors and the finishings, introducing the semi glossy and the super glossy lacquers as well: the catalogue now offers new dark grey, light grey, black, beige and blu Tiffany.

Le nostre collezioni scultoree – vasi di grandi dimensioni, arredi e complementi, luci scenografiche, del ricco catalogo o realizzati in collaborazione con grandi studi di architettura (decenni di know how ci consentono un elevatissimo livello di personalizzazione per ogni singolo progetto) – esprimono da sole il nostro concept funzionale, sempre connotato da una forte impronta di stile e design made in Italy riconosciuta globalmente, sui molteplici fronti del residenziale, retail, hospitality e spazi pubblici in genere.

Il marchio Serralunga coincide con la declinazione di un materiale altamente performante, il polietilene, nella cui lavorazione in stampaggio rotazionale siamo pionieri e di cui abbiamo contribuito ad esplorare le potenzialità di forme e colori, grazie all’innovazione tecnologica e alla collaborazione con designer internazionali.

Un primato di realtà industriale che, soprattutto oggi, difendiamo strenuamente, mantenendo l’intera produzione nella nostra sede e
stabilimento storici di Biella, esattamente nella stessa sede del nostro primo giorno di produzione, quasi 200 anni fa, sempre in Via Serralunga.
All’appuntamento con il Salone del Mobile di Milano 2016, sotto l’art direction di Raffaella Mangiarotti, confermiamo la collaborazione con Christophe Pillet, designer che ha firmato per noi celebri long seller, presentando la collezione “Pine Beach”, divano e poltrona ispirate dalla morbidezza e sinuosità delle coste marittime.

Sperimentiamo nuove collaborazioni con designer italiani e internazionali: Shin Azumi ha progettato “Bulbil”, sgabello che ricorda un bulbo in un mix di polietilene e legno, Garth Roberts ha pensato “Juju”, un tavolino maneggevole e di ridotte dimensioni, il cui nome rimanda onomatopeicamente al gioco.
Armoniosa ed essenziale la lounge chair “ Bay” di Raffaella Mangiarotti, caratterizzata da un segno sui contorni che ricalca la cucitura di un taglio sartoriale, la sedia “Solea” di Giovanni Giacobone e Massimo Roj, dalle linee moderne ed avvolgenti ispirate allo stile viennese di fine Ottocento ed i particolari pannelli modulari “Kentia”, di Stefania Naretto e Chiara Otella, ispirati alla forma foglia della pianta tropicale Howea forsteriana, per dividere in modo naturale ambienti pubblici e privati.

Le nuove esclusive finiture: le nuove deposizioni di metallo, Clean Fighter e i nuovi laccati super fashion

Alle novità di collezione si aggiunge una innovazione nel settore delle finiture: presentiamo in esclusiva una speciale finitura metallica, risultato di un innovativo processo che consente di applicare un metallo a freddo sulla superficie plastica.
Il processo conferisce al prodotto tutte le caratteristiche di un pezzo di metallo fuso, tra cui struttura, lucentezza e conducibilità termica, unite alla incredibile leggerezza della struttura in polietilene.

Il prodotto trattato si sente e agisce come se fosse stato completamente rivestito da metallo fuso a caldo, in quanto la finitura è metallo a tutti gli effetti: non è una vernice metallica ma è un composito di metallo.

Il risultato è una superficie durevole anche per l’outdoor, resistente ai raggi solari, in quanto è completamente stabile all’acqua e alle intemperie, ma estremamente maneggevole per peso e quindi trasporto.

La nuova finitura è disponibile in Titanio opaco, Rame Opaco, Bronzo opaco, Marrone e Grigio scuro.

Oltre alla finitura metallica per metabolizzazione, presentiamo anche le finiture laccate metallizzate (oro, bronzo, rame), grazie allo studio congiunto tra la direzione artistica Serralunga e i tecnici di laboratorio dello storico marchio di vernici Lechler, all’avanguardia per gli studi cromatici e per il know-how di tecnologie applicative del colore in molteplici settori industriali, automotive in primis.

Un’altra novità che sveleremo al Salone del Mobile Clean Fighter, CLEAN? YES, YOU CAN!!, compound innovativo che consente una pulizia rapida e super semplice di mobili, vasi e complementi Serralunga: meno tempo dedicato alle faccende di casa e minima fatica.

Clean Fighter, assolutamente trasversale per applicazione, è stato inserito, oltre che in molte delle nuove collezioni, in alcune linee già a catalogo. Dalla sua parte la capacità di adattarsi a differenti complessità di forme e la disponibilità in vari colori della gamma cromatica del nostro catalogo

Novità anche per le classiche laccature superglossy, in catalogo si aggiungono il grigio scuro, il grigio chiaro, il nero, il rosso corallo e l’azzurro Tiffany.
